18 JULY – The Backyard Carousel with Porcelain Punch
The Backyard Carousel is a Hills Hoist clothes line with eight bikes to ride which generates electricity and powers its own music (composed by organ man Barry Morgan) and 100m of LED lights. The Backyard Carousel is totally self sufficient needing no electric power just human pedal power.
Invented and built by musician Liam Gerner with engineering and fabrication by artist Paul Irving, with guidance and creative genius from of Mark Thomson. Click here to check out a video.
Performing on top of the Carousel will be Porcelain Punch! They have been trained in circus, physical theatre, clown and musical theatre and will no doubt bring further excitement and intrigue to this human-powered stage.
