Site Location: 19 – 35 Gertrude st
Artwork Title: >addiction<>habit<>change<
The real myth of Sisyphus is that life does not rely on repetition, that habit is the opposite of freedom and meaning.
Jacobs works at ABC Radio National where he co-founded the experimental arts and culture audio adventure The Night Air. His arts practice includes media collage and live camera performance.
Jacobs’ collaborator, Fraser, draws directly on her knowledge of addiction as Australian Research Council Future Fellow. Her work on the politics and social place of drugs and addiction appears in books, articles, news and public opinion pieces and radio documentaries. Based at Curtin University’s National Drug Research Institute, in the Social Studies of Addiction Concepts Research program (SSAC), Suzanne has just published a new book entitled Habits: Remaking addiction, 2014 (with co-authors David Moore and Helen Keane).
