This new video work shows a series of short performances, of humans trying to obscure their own image. A clear crisp image of a face slowly becomes distorted by fog until the lens shows only a smudge of colour. An anxious breathing sound pervades the work.

Defined Vaguely By Humaness Disappearing Without A Trace (2016) seeks to explore notions of memory and loss. Inquiring into which faces are remembered and which ones are lost. Invisible. Forgotten.

Mira Oosterweghel is a Melbourne based artist working across, performance, installation, sound, video and sculpture. She has exhibited at various galleries and festivals nationally and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in 2013.
