Sean Capone – Imaginary Atlas
Site Number: 18
Site Location: Gertrude Hotel, 148 Gertrude st
Artwork Title: Imaginary Atlas
Artist: Sean Capone
Imaginary Atlas utilises 3D animation, algorithmic software, and environmental projection to create neural maps of imaginary spaces. Emerging from the artists investigations of site – specificity in the digital age, psychedelic motifs explore themes of reality, illusion and the passage of time. A process driven painting emerges that blurs traditional pictorial space with the moving image, creating time intensive compositions and psycho-geographical impressions.
