Projection Art Masterclass

DATE: 22 – 25 February 2017, 4pm – 9pm 
LOCATION: 
Testing Grounds, 1 City Road, Southbank, Melbourne


As part of the 2017 GSPF Mentorship Program, this Masterclass in Projection Art offers emerging artists an insight into new digital media practises.

Facilitated by leading projection artist Yandell Walton, the workshop will be held over 4 days at Testing Grounds (Melbourne). During this time, artists will be provided with the opportunity to learn about the artform, technical skills, projection mapping techniques and proposal development.

Each participant will develop a proposal for a site specific artwork that will be considered for exhibition in the 2017 GSPF program. Three successful participants of the Masterclass will be invited for continued guidance as part of the GSPF Mentorship program, to be held in May-July, 2017.

The GPA Masterclass will run over 4 days at Testing Grounds:
22 – 25 February 2017, 4pm – 9pm 

Exhibition Dates for Gertrude Street Projection Festival:
21 – 30 July 2017

 

COST:
• Individual cost for the masterclass is $500
• Applicants can nominate themselves for financial assistance, indicated in Question 11 of the application form.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Applications Open: Monday 2 January 2017
Applications Close: Friday 10 February 2017, 5pm

Applicants must be emerging artists, of any practise, with an interest in projection art.
It is essential that successful applicants are available to attend the masterclass in Melbourne on 22 – 25 February 2017,  4pm – 9pm.
