“Australia invested millions of dollars in preparing for the Y2K bug. Russia invested nearly none. Australia recalled almost its entire embassy staff from Russia prior to January 1, 2000, over fears of what might happen if communications or transportation networks broke down. Nothing happened.” – National Geographic Society, Y2K Bug

As part of the 2017 Gertrude Projection Festival’s Unfurling Futures, we present to you ‘FitzroY2K’ – an ArtBox Truck retrospective that will take you back to the turn of the century, to when the future of the first world was held in the balance by nothing but mass hysteria. A time where ‘So Fresh’ compilations reigned supreme, cargo pants were slung to their lowest, and the Matrix was more real than ever before. It is a celebration of a simpler time, a much less fashionable time… a time where the millennium bug was the worst of our fears.
