The video Wii Boxer comes from of series of videos of solo games that the artist undertook in 2012. It explores issues of self-identity and isolation that is created by technology. It is a taste of the future where we don’t have to live physically and communally together.

Salote Tawale

Salote Tawale is an artist who works across performance, installation and video to explore the identity of the individual within collective systems. Through self-performance, Tawale’s practice draws on personal experiences of; race, class, ethnicity and gender formed growing up in suburban Australia. Tawale has exhibited widely throughout Australasia, recently returning from a residency in Banff Canada and co-authoring an article for the summer edition of Canadian Art Magazine.
